FDOT Road and Lane Closures for May 12 to 18


Line repainting on U.S. 90, State Road 247, lane closures on U.S. 441/41 and I-75 and I-10.

The following is a list of roadwork underway by the Florida Department of Transportation that may affect traffic from May 12to May 18.

COLUMBIA COUNTY:

Branford Highway (State Road 247)  Crews will be repainting the roadway lines from the Interstate 75 overpass to US 90 which is a moving operation.

Interstate 10  Daytime lane closures at the I-75 interchange to continue installing new overhead signs. Also, possible daytime lane closures between US 441 (Exit 303) and the Suwannee County line to add  traffic monitoring sensors in the pavement  and to complete punch list items. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph during lane closures. No work is allowed from Friday at 6 a.m. until Sunday at 9 p.m.

Interstate 75  Two lanes will be closed for southbound traffic beginning Monday night at 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day through Thursday night from just south of State Road 47 (Exit 423) to three miles north of US 41/441 (Exit 414) to repave the outside and part of the center lanes. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph during lane closures. No work is allowed from Friday at 6 a.m. until Sunday at 9 p.m.

US 41/441 Crews will be repainting the roadway linesbetween the Alachua County line (Santa Fe River) and US 90 which is a moving operation.

US 90  Crews will be repainting the roadway lines between Interstate 75 and State Road 100 which is a moving operation.

ALACHUA COUNTY:

Archer Road (State Road 24)  Nighttime lane closures Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Southwest 44th and 78th streets, west of Interstate 75, for paving turn lanes and side street entrances. 

East University Avenue (State Road 26)  Crews will be repainting the roadway lines from Waldo Road (State Road 24) to Main Street which is a moving operation.

Hawthorne Road (State Road 20)  Daytime lane closures from 4 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. between Lake Shore Drive (County Road 329B) and County Road 325 for resurfacing.

Interstate 75 at Newberry Road (Exit 387)  Possible daytime lane closures while crews complete punch list items. Semi-trucks are now restricted to the two outside lanes; however, the speed limit remains reduced to 60 mph.

Newberry Road (State Road 26)  Crews will be repainting the roadway lines from Southwest 13th Street (US 441) to the Gilchrist County line which is a moving operation.

North Main Street (State Road 329)  Crews will be repainting the roadway lines fromEast University Avenue to Northwest Eighth Avenue which is a moving operation. 

Northeast 39th Avenue (State Road 222)  Daytime lane closures for eastbound traffic at Northeast Second Street for work at the intersection.

Northwest Sixth Street (State Road 20)  Crews will be repainting the roadway lines from Northwest Eighth Avenue to US 441 which is a moving operation.

Northwest Eighth Avenue (State Road 20)  Crews will be repainting the roadway linesfrom North Main Street to Northwest Sixth Street which is a moving operation.

Northwest 39th Avenue (State Road 222)  Daytime lane closure for westbound traffic to construct driveways to the new Shands medical offices east of Interstate 75.  Also, daytime lane closures in the 5400 block to work on the landscaping in the medians.

Southwest 13th Street (US 441)  Daytime lane closures for modifications to the pedestrian overpass (old railroad bridge) just south of Archer Road. This work is being done through the City of Gainesville’s Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and will be ongoing through September.

Southwest 16th Avenue (State Road 226)  Daytime lane closures for westbound traffic at the VA Medical Center parking garage for driveway work.

State Road 26 in Newberry  The road will be closed Saturday, May 19 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. between Northwest 260th Street and US 41 in Newberry for the annual Watermelon Festival parade. Alachua County Sheriff’s Department will detour traffic.

State Road 26 in Orange Heights  Possible daytime lane closures at the US 301 and CSX Railroad overpass from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for safety improvements.

State Road 121 Daytime lane closures between US 441 in Gainesville and La Crosse to improve drainage in the ditches.

State Road 235  Daytime lane closures after 8:30 a.m. between County Road 241 and the Bradford County line near Brooker for paving.

US 441  Also, crews will be repainting the roadway lines from Northwest Sixth Street to the Columbia County line which is a moving operation. 

BAKER COUNTY:

County Road 125 (Manntown Bridge)  The Manntown Bridge, just south of Interstate 10,  is closed to all traffic for bridge replacement. Traffic is detoured to Mud Lake Road (County Road 130), State Road 121, I-10 and back to CR 125.

Fifth Street (State Road 228)  Daytime lane closures from south of Interstate 10 to US 90 to repaint the roadway markings.

Sixth Street (State Road 121)  Daytime lane closures from the Union County line to the Georgia line to repaint the roadway markings.  

BRADFORD COUNTY:

US 301  Daytime lane closure for northbound traffic just north of Walmart in Starke to add driveway to the State Farm Insurance offices.

DIXIE COUNTY:

US 19  Daytime lane closures between the Levy and Taylor county lines to repaint the roadway markings.

HAMILTON COUNTY:

Interstate 75  Nighttime lane closures for northbound traffic from Sunday night at 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Friday between the Suwannee County line (Suwannee River Bridge) and US 129 (Exit 451) to resurface the center and inside lanes. No work is allowed Friday at 6 a.m. until Sunday at 9 p.m.  The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph during lane closures.

Interstate 75 Daytime lane closure for southbound traffic at the Bellville Road overpass, about two miles south of the Georgia line, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for routine bridge maintenance.

LAFAYETTE COUNTY:

State Road 51  Daytime lane closures between the Dixie County line and US 27 in Mayo for shoulder repairs.

LEVY COUNTY:

Alternate 27 (US 27A) Daytime lane closures between US 129 in Chiefland and the Marion County line to repaint the roadway markings.

State Road 121  Daytime lane closuresbetween US 19 in Lebanon Station and US 41 in Williston to repaint the roadway markings. Also, crews will be repainting the roadway lines which is a moving operation.

MADISON COUNTY:

State Road 145  Daytime lane closures from Pinetta to the Georgia line to clean ditches.

US 90  Daytime lane closures between the Jefferson and Suwannee County lines to repaint the roadway markings.

SUWANNEE COUNTY:

State Road 51 Crews will be repainting the roadway lines between the Lafayette County line (Suwannee River Bridge) and US 129 in Live Oak which is a moving operation.

State Road 136 Crews will be repainting the roadway lines east of Interstate 75 to the Columbia County line which is a moving operation.

State Road 247  Possible daytime lane closures for upgrading the school zone signals at Branford Elementary and High schools.

TAYLOR COUNTY:

US 27  Daytime lane closures from Jefferson Street (US 221) to Byron Butler Parkway (US 19) to resurface and replace traffic signal sensors embedded in the pavement.

US 98  Possibledaytime lane closures Monday through Friday as work continues to build a temporary bridge across the Aucilla River at the Jefferson County line. No detours will be required for this project.
