A nineteen-year-old bicycle rider is in serious condition after colliding with a car at 12 a.m. Saturday.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that John Richard Wesley Robertson of Lake City was riding south in the northbound lane of S.W. Business Point Road and lost control of his bicycle. He veered to the right, crossing into the southbound lane and into the path of a car that was going south.
The driver of the car, Jacob A. Flowers, 18, of Fort White, was unable to avoid the collision. Robertson was taken to Shands at UF in Gainesville and is reported to be in serious condition.
